Glasgow takes its coffee seriously. The West End has been quietly building one of the best independent coffee scenes in the UK for years, and the city centre is catching up fast. These are the spots worth knowing.

☕ West End
- Paragon Coffee Club – A newer addition to the West End that’s already earning its reputation. Excellent espresso, relaxed atmosphere, and the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned.
- Papercup – One of Glasgow’s best-loved specialty roasters with a café on Great Western Road to match. They roast their own beans near the Clyde and the quality shows in every cup. Go for filter if you can.
- Offshore Coffee – Impossible to miss on Gibson Street thanks to the bright blue exterior. Been part of the West End coffee scene for well over a decade and still one of the most consistent spots in the area.
- Cottonrake – Equal parts coffee shop and bakery, and honestly you’d be doing yourself a disservice visiting for just one. The almond croissants are exceptional. The espresso holds its own.
- Eusebi Deli – A Glasgow institution with red cups that are almost as iconic as the deli itself. Known for one of the best cappuccinos in the city. Get in early if you want a chance at a doughnut.
- Perch & Rest – For the serious coffee drinkers. An extensive filter and espresso menu, espresso flights if you want to explore, and latte art that actually looks the part.
🏙️ City Centre
- Laboratorio Espresso – Regularly named among the best coffee shops in Britain. Stylish, considered, and the espresso is serious. If you’re only having one coffee in the city centre, make it here.
- Café Wander – Tucked in on West George Street near Queen Street Station. A good independent option for the city centre that doesn’t shout about itself as much as it probably should.
